RESIDENCIES

How long are the residencies?
The recommended minimum period is one week – 7 days/6 nights. The day you arrive is when the residency officially begins. Almost all of them are flexible, but to be able to achieve some progress, a week is highly recommended. The clay vacation w/Ranjita is designed as a 5-day course as she spends as much time with the participant as required.
Can I plan other activities around the residencies?
Every location has its unique sights and sounds and things to do and explore. We strongly suggest you take out time on your schedule, take breaks and use your time effectively. Please note that any excursions, visits to nearby towns etc. are not included in the package, but you can work out the details with your host.
Can I plan to explore India after the residency?
Yes, of course! In fact, it’s highly recommended. Please make a note of it in the comments section.
How do I book a residency?
Reach out with your interest and we can then discuss the next steps.
How do I cancel a residency?
Since every residency is different and operates in their own way, the general terms and conditions set are:
– 90% of the amount will be refunded if the cancellation is within 2 months of the start date.
– 80% of the amount will be refunded if the cancellation is within 1 month of the start date.
– If the cancellation is less than a month from the start date, you have an option of a) using it as a credit for another date/time for your travel b) depending on the various factors of each location, the amount returned will vary.
– If the cancellation is within two weeks, no refunds will be offered. However, a credit for another date can be worked out. This depends on the residency.
For the Clay Vacation w/Ranjita, cancellations are possible up to two weeks prior to the start date. After which, only credits for a future date will be issued. In case of an emergency or cancellation at the artist’s end due to unforeseen circumstances, we can discuss the terms, depending on the situation.
TOURS

If the fixed departures don’t work, can I still go?
A minimum of 3 participants are required to make a tour work. If you’re interested, you can still gather two more friends/fellow artists to make it happen. It’s going to be a unique and unforgettable experience!
When can I decide (last date)?
The tour is open up to two months before the start date to give enough time to procure bus/train/flight tickets and hotel reservations in advance. There is a surcharge on last-minute bookings due to the increase in flight and train tickets internally and depending on when you book, please expect some cost difference after the Early Bird pricing expires. However, the earlier the better to get the best deals for flights, insurance and other additions.
Is the food safe in India?
The tour operator will do its best to ensure that we dine and eat at good hotels/restaurants. However, do note that we are not able to fully control other factors like a person’s tolerance to various foods. We do suggest you take proper precautions while eating out. In general, being safe and asking about ingredients is a good practice. Most of the meals will be at the hotels/properties we’re staying. If you suffer from multiple allergies, including dairy/nuts etc. please be warned that it’s a bit more challenging to travel. Our advice would be not to take a risk.
What forms of transport are we using?
We will be using a mix of transportation including personal vehicles/vans/cars. In the North edition, we will also be taking a couple of flights to reach our destination to avoid a long road journey. In the Central edition, we will take a train (well equipped and one of our better trains), and a couple of flights.
Can I join part of the tour?
Since the tours are designed as a complete package, it will be challenging to bring in a participant mid-way due to logistical issues. We encourage you to join the complete tour to ensure you have a wonderful experience.
What are the general terms and conditions?
The prices quoted are on a double occupancy basis. Single supplement is extra and is mentioned in the individual tours page.
All flight timings and fares are based on the current schedule and are subject to change. Early bird pricing is mentioned on the tour pages. After this date, the prices might vary depending on internal flights/trains and other associated costs.
Full payment to be done as per the dates published on individual tour pages.
Class of travel on trains may change based on availability at the time of booking.
What is the cancellation policy for a tour?
Cancellation Charges:
Notice of cancellation must be made in writing. For cancellations made 4 weeks before the scheduled departure, there will be a cancellation fee of 50% of the invoice. For cancellations made within 4 weeks of scheduled departure, there will be a cancellation charge of 100%.
In certain cases, the cancellation policy (including conditions applicable on the advance deposit made/required for holding the reservation) may differ & would be applicable as per the cancellation policy of the hotel/service provider.
Unused Services & Refund: No refund will be made for any unused services or other arrangements due to any schedule changes made by passengers while travelling.
If there are any additional expenses due to bad weather or any other reason beyond the control of the tour operator on account of hotel stay, transportation, and meals etc., these will incur additional expenses.
- DISCLAIMER FOR RESIDENCIES/TOURS: Please note that the tour company provides all the services mentioned including sightseeing, accommodation, meals and all logistics as listed as inclusions.
I am NOT a travel agent or company. I will however be a host/guide and help navigate this experience. The planning once the dates are confirmed is to be done at your end and payments and bookings are handled by the tour company. As an India travel expert, I am happy to offer advice and connect you to the right resources should you wish to extend your trip beyond the tours.
