Residency/Vacation
A commune designed to host resident artists, craft enthusiasts, ceramicists, writers and photographers, who can collaborate and envisage concepts under the open skies, and relish the subtle symphonies of nature. It is a meeting place for like-minded people, yet you can easily find sanctuary in your own company. What’s more, you can pace the experience to your own rhythm and preferred intensity.

Location
Rural MP
This artist retreat is accessible via Khajuraho airport in Madhya Pradesh and the best way to get here is via Delhi. There are flights into Khajuraho and a Vande Bharat train, which is comfortable and will give you a glimpse of India’s countryside.
The best season to travel to MP is between October to early March, after which summer begins.
On your arrival in Khajuraho, you will be picked up and transferred to the artist village, around a two-hour drive from the airport.

Studio/Art Retreat
This retreat has been set up as a base to explore and expand your art practice. You can work at your own pace and choose your project for the duration of your stay. Guidance is also available if you need any help. However, this is largely a self-guided space where you can focus on any specific areas of your practice. The peaceful and serene ambience and environment are conducive to the production and practice of art. There are also other studios in the same space and there might be other artists who might be there at the same time.

Your abode
You will be hosted at the property and the lodging is extremely comfortable and well-appointed. You will have all your creature comforts, though you’ll probably spend a lot of your time outside.
The pricing will be dependent on your duration of your stay. Some explorations of the immediate area are also taken care of by the host.
The rooms are designed for comfort and all meals during the residency are taken care of.

YOUR WORKING environment
The ceramics studio is equipped with all the basic tools you’ll need for your residency/vacation. However, we recommend carrying some of your regular and favourite tools along! There is also a resident potter who is an accomplished artist and you can ask for help, suggestions, and guidance whenever you feel the need. However, this is largely a self-guided project space. Depending on when you’re travelling, there will also be other artists working in the various studios.

Studio
The ceramics studio is set up for wheelwork and for handbuilding and can easily accommodate 3-4 artists at the same time.

Inclusions and Exclusions

INCLUSIONS: The price will be calculated depending on the duration of stay. It will includes studio use, accommodation and all meals at the retreat. Local sightseeing is also included, however, please check for longer excursions you might want to go on. It also includes use of retreat facilities (e.g., studio space, common areas) and Wi-Fi. Meals: All meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are included. Please specify dietary requirements in advance. Local Sightseeing: Walks and nearby excursions will be taken care of by the host. Firing/glazing: For shorter stays of a week, a firing is not included. However, for longer stays you can discuss firing your work and shipping (if required) at an additional cost.

EXCLUSIONS: The price does not include airport transfers and any excursions that are not already included in the price. They can be organized for you at cost, depending on your flight, train and arrival details.

Personal: Any other expenses like snacks purchased on the road, bottled water, etc. are not included.

Medical/travel insurance is highly recommended and will be taken care of by the participant. Please check for any requirements in terms of insurance to ensure you’re covered for medical costs when travelling. Medical help and hospitals are accessible but please note that this is a rural area.

Travel to India: Please note that depending on your plans, I can help with your travel plan, extending it beyond the retreat should you wish to spend more time exploring the country. Please leave any requirements via the contact form. Booking ahead is highly recommended to get good deals on flights.
